Job Match lives inside the resume editor as its own tab, right alongside Contact and Skills — not a separate tool you have to leave your resume for. Paste a job description and it extracts and categorizes the posting's hard skills, soft skills, and other keywords, then checks each one against your resume to produce a score and a found/missing breakdown.
How it works
- Open the Job Match tab in the editor and paste a job description (at least a few sentences).
- It comes back with an overall match score and a qualitative read (strong match, decent match, needs work), plus every keyword it found, split into hard skills, soft skills, and other keywords.
- Missing keywords each get an "Apply" button — clicking one adds it straight into your Skills section (Additional Skills or Core Competencies, depending on the kind).
- The score updates immediately as you apply suggestions — no second check required.
Why the score isn't just an AI guess
The model's only job is to read the posting and sort its keywords into categories. The score itself is computed by plain, deterministic code — hard skills count for 60% of the weight, soft skills 25%, other keywords 15% — checking whether each keyword's text is actually present in your resume. Nothing here is the AI self-reporting how good a match it thinks you are.
